How much does it cost to hire a nanny?
One thing to remember is that the location you are in and the type of service that you want will determine the actual cost of a nanny. There isn’t a by hour rate that works for everyone of every skill and need.
Geography is the first thing that will impact on the cost of a nanny. The more influential the location or the more costly the living expenses, the more costly it will be in those areas to hire a nanny for your son or daughter.

Another consideration of the nanny and the work that he or she does for you is the work schedule. If you have a live in nanny, you may think that the nanny would be working any time that the child is around. The fact is that a nanny is like any other employee, needs a schedule that is fair and appropriate.
Usually, a nanny will work from 40 to 60 hours. If the nanny is required to work over these hours, the family should provide extra pay, such as overtime or should give some additional time off later in the week.
Hourly employees will face the same restrictions on hours as the live in or full time nannies. The difference here is that the nanny will likely earn an hourly rate, which in most States have a maximum number of hours per week worked before overtime rates will kick in. You’ll have to check with your State’s Department of Labor website to find this information out.
Again, all of these things have to be taken into account during the hiring process.
Taxes are yet another consideration of the hiring of a nanny. As you are employing them, you will be required to pay taxes for them. This includes Social Security taxes, Federal Income Taxes and any state or local earnings that are required to be paid in your State.

We use any holiday as an excuse to make my favorite recipe for Candied Carrots. But I don’t know why I keep waiting for holidays? Growing up, we had candied carrots in some shape or form all year long. My Mom knew how to get kids to eat their vegetables. I guess carrots are sweet in and of themselves, but just add a little honey or sugar and kids will think they’re eating dessert. Oh, and if you have a garden or can get those little baby carrots, that’s a dish straight from heaven. No foolin’… when your family gets a whiff of that sweet aroma filling the house, they’ll be wondering what holiday they’ve forgotten. This recipe for candied carrots is a treat any day.

Disciplining your daughter or son is never easy. Positive Parenting is something that concerns nearly all mothers and fathers. As devoted parents, we all want to have a healthy impact on our kids and help them to grow up feeling nurtured, safe, and cared for.

The underlying principle here is that every situation that arises with your child is perfect, even at its most troublesome point. Every situation has a positive side. Therefore, positive parenting begins with desiring to find the positive in any situation.
Also try to keep telling them No, children remember this and often it can be negative to their development.
Try giving them a choice with a more positive outcome to help them figure it out for themselves, for example ” well you can do that but if you do this and this you’ll get this (positive result).
It’s always going to be a challenge bringing up children and even though there are hundreds of books out there, that does not mean the methods of parenting will always be right, but rest assured positive parenting is a good way to go.
