So when does recreation become a sport and maybe make it to the Olympics? That’s a good question and I’m not so sure anyone really has a good answer. Take bowling - it’s a fantastic recreation. However serious bowlers figure it ought to be in the Olympics. Why? What makes a sport a sport that qualifies for the big times?
What makes recreation a sport? Do me a favour, check out Fatloss for idiots review. That will help you out! Otherwise go back in history and look up how hockey got started. Follow its rise to the gold medal leagues. Frankly about the only thing I can see that makes a recreation (and hockey once was a recreation - until someone got deadly serious about it) a sport is the number of people involved and the spirit of competitiveness. Gee, that might mean a quilting circle could eventually get to the Olympics.

Enjoying the great outdoors, whether through fishing, camping, hiking, or other means can be an exciting adventure. The same is try when purchasing an RV for you and your family. The fact that you can take your modern “home” anywhere you like is a huge benefit and will make vacationing so much easier and more enjoyable.
Many people buy an RV for the occasional trips, but increasingly families are using them to spend long vacations or even full summers traveling around the country to see the grand sights.
Mindful of Saving Money
You are going to spend a lot of money for your RV and its options, so it is best to know how to get the most out of it. A recreational vehicle can travel quite a distance, even in one quick vacation.
Although they are made to drive numerous miles, they are still susceptible to the every day wear and tear that they will inevitably face as the overall mileage increases. This could end up costing you a lot of money if you are constantly fixing something that is going wrong due to the increased mileage on the vehicle. The cost of gasoline is no small factor here either!
What to Check
One of the best ways to get the most efficient miles out of your RV is to check the tires both before and after you take your trips. Since you are probably traveling far distances each time you get into your RV, you need to be aware that the tires may not be able to handle such distances every time. You are likely to be traveling in unfamiliar terrain, so you should be on the lookout for extensive wear and tear on your tires each time you head out.
Another way to maximize the use of your RV is to keep an eye on the tanks that are connected to it. The gas tank especially needs to be checked for leaks every time before you bring it out on an extended vacation.
Electrical System
The RV’s electrical system is equally important. You need to ensure that it is not being overloaded by any appliances or equipment that you or your family use. A faulty electrical system will certainly cut down on the number of miles you can typically get out of a recreational vehicle.
An RV is more than just another vehicle. It takes a lot of work, even more so than a typical car. However, if you treat your RV right and take it in for the proper tune ups and oil changes as well as check the tires routinely, you will find you get more out it because it will always be running properly when you and your family want to take that long awaited road trip.

Rumour has it that Liverpool Soccer Club may be following the same path as local rivals Manchester City Soccer Club. Apparently, a £500 million bid has been put in for the club by Middle Eastern company Dubai International Capital (DIC), the investment arm of Dubai’s government.
American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are said to be mulling this offer over. Hicks and Gillett bought the club in February 2007 and their reign at Anfield started off well with the record purchase of Fernando Torres from Atletico Madrid and the promise of a new stadium.
However, it wasn’t long before the two wealthy businessmen began arguing over certain aspects of running the soccer club and the cracks in their relationship really began to show. Hicks and Gillett bought the soccer club on finance so any potential buyout would clear any lingering debts and leave manager Rafa Benitez with stacks of cash to spend in the January transfer window.
Sheikh Mohammed, real name Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, seems to be the man behind the takeover bid. Skeikh Mohammed is the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Dubai. He is said to be the seventh richest person in the world and is thought to be worth approximately £7 billion.
Manager Rafa Benitez seems to be pleased with the news of the potential takeover saying “I have talked to the chairman and chief executive about this and I was pleased with what I heard. It is always good for a club to have more money and more possibilities.”
Liverpool Soccer Club, five times champions of Europe but yet to win the English Premier League, have given DIC permission to study their books ahead of the potential takeover. If the £500 million bid is successful, we will see the construction of a 60,000 capacity stadium at a cost of £200 million.
Rick Parry, Liverpool Chief Executive, also seems to be excited by the news of the takeover bid saying “This is the latest step on the road of finding the long-term investment that the club needs. This is very important in terms of the proposed new stadium, which is key to plans for the regeneration of the local community. On the pitch, Liverpool remains focused on winning and, here again, this is all about doing a deal that gives us the long-term resources to do that.” Liverpool have their soccer positions filled with some of Europes finest players and their fans demand they are challenging for major honors every year.
The news of the potential takeover is likely to be music to the ears of Liverpool Soccer Club fans, however, there will be those that won’t be tremendously happy about the news that yet another Premiership soccer club is facing a high-profile foreign takeover bid. Several Premiership soccer clubs have undergone foreign takeovers in the last few years including Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Portsmouth and very recently Manchester City.

Skiing and snowboarding are alike in that they are both downhill winter sports and both can be countless hours of fun. However, the similarities end there. Both of these winter weather sports require different skills, equipment and each impacts the body in different ways. As enjoyable as these sports are, not everyone can take part. In this article, we’ll help you decide whether you should grab a snowboard or a pair of skis.
Snowboard riders constantly have to sit or exert energy to remain on edge while they are stationary. Unlike skiing, you will not have poles to help you remain upright and standing when you are not moving. Snowboarding is a lot easier on the knees compared to skiing, and there are less injuries in snowboarding versus skiing. Snowboarding can, however, be a lot more brutal on your wrists so make sure you wear wrist guards. You’ll start to develop a deep hatred for flat terrain when you’re starting out. Again, you won’t have your ski poles to bail you out. You will, however, begin to fall in love with deeper and softer snow. Snowboards maneuver nicely in powder, while skis prefer moguls and ice.
The biggest difference between skiing and snowboarding is the gear. Snowboarding gear is simpler than skiing equipment in many ways. For one, there is much less equipment to carry around - it’s just you and your board. Snowboarding is also more comfortable since the snowboarding boots are soft and your hands stay warmer because they’re not gripping ski poles. Ski gear is designed to function well while on the slopes, but it’s exasperating to get across the parking lot in those boots and trying to carry all your equipment.
Skiing and snowboarding also draws different demographics. While the skier tends to be a baby boomer and so dresses conservatively, the snowboarder is much more likely to be a young adult who is seeking thrills as well as spills. The snowboarder also tends to be an outdoor lover of all seasons and often has summer sports listed as mountain biking and trecking in the summer and extreme sports such as winter camping and snowboarding during the winter months.
At the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter which sport you prefer. Skiing and snowboarding are both great cardio exercises that are fun and exhilarating. Note that beginner snowboarders are known to tackle advanced terrain during their first season, whereas skiing takes great skill and practice to ride expert slopes. If you’re a beginner, then take some lessons and sample the benefits the each sport has to offer, as well as getting a feel for the gear. If you’re a diehard fan of either sport - more power to you! It’s all about loving what you do.

If you’re planning a fishing vacation but debating whether the extra cost of an Alaska fly-in fishing adventure is really worth it, it is. Booking with a flight charter service or a lodge with float boat service means you can be flexible, go where the fish are, hit the remote spots, do more and see more.
Still deciding whether it’s worth it? Read on for an overview of why fly-in will make your Alaskan fishing experience even better.
Follow the Fish
Most of the fish in Alaska are migratory. That means if you book at a particular lodge and the fish have already passed through or aren’t there yet, you could have slow fishing all week and not much of an experience.
If you had booked a fly-in trip at a lodge that offers float boat services, you’d have the flexibility to travel to where the fishing is good. So, instead of depending on predictions, you can base your fishing on up-to-date migration information.
Because the bulk of their business is based on taking customers to the best fishing spots right “now,” most flight charter companies employ naturalists or highly experienced, local staff who are dedicated to tracking fish migrations and finding you the best fishing.
Hit the Remote Spots
If you’re a solitary fisherman, someone who hates competing for fish, you can’t beat the fly-in experience. Instead of spending your day looking for a fishing spot that’s not already occupied, you can fly in to some of the most remote and not-accessible-by-boat locations in the state.
Do More
Choosing an Alaska fly-in fishing vacation over a lodge or boat-focused trip means you can hit a lot more fishing holes. You’re not as limited by time, water systems or distance - therefore, you can do more, see more and fish more.
In addition to being able to spend more time fishing, you also have greater opportunities for alternate activities like hiking, kayaking, rafting or wilderness watching. Instead of tethering yourself to one lodge and the area around it, you can easily arrange side trips and expeditions with a flight-based trip.
Flightseeing Opportunities
The best side benefit to an Alaska fly-in fishing trip is all the sightseeing opportunities. Each day, you travel to a new fishing spot, and on your way you’re getting an included tour of the state’s majestic beauty and wilderness.
Since Alaska has perhaps the most spectacular wilderness and scenery in the world, the view is no small bonus for the person who loves the outdoors. You can do some of the best fishing anywhere and simultaneously enjoy breath-taking views of the landscape and animals which inhabit it. It is a fishing excursion well worth the time and effort to get there.

Chess is a two player competitive game. The game is played on a square chess board, which has 64 squares in a eight by eight formation. Each person playing the game has sixteen pieces: a king, a queen, two knights, two rooks, two bishops, and eight pawns.
Watch the moves you make on chess boards
The object of the game is to “check-mate” the other player’s king. Each chess piece has rules about when and where they can move within the chessboard, which adds a level of intrigue and difficulty to the game.
Chessmen are normally carved from wood, but can be also generated from ivory or stone. Form and function combine to make an unreal hand-carved chess set a beautiful addition to any collection or home display.
One of the biggest items that can be purchased on auction sites today are vintage staunton chess sets. They make a great collector’s item because of the intricate artwork and carving that craftsmen incorporate for each of the individual chess pieces.
Every game of chess is like a story. A pawn sneaks towards “no man’s land” and views another pawn. A knight jumps to protect the pawn and a bishop righteously slides out to make sure there are no unforeseen problems.
Every piece of the chess set has a way of moving and is part of the story–all the way to when the king gets cut down. When you play chess, you get to see the narrative unfold.
You guess what will happen next and sometimes you are correct. Sometimes you don’t see that sneaky rook as it makes off with your queen. Ouch! that hurts!! If you enjoy stories, you’ll enjoy playing chess and making up your own stories.
To a lot, chess is far more than a game. Chess is a philosophy, a logic puzzle, and an art all at once. For some, electronic chess is the perfect way to match wits with themselves, a partner, or a computer. Myself if I’m on the road I prefer some type of travel chess set compared to an electronic version.
For some, though, the tactile part of real chess sets is an integral part of the experience. Not only that, but many things of interactive play in person are lost if the chess is electronic. The interaction with a flesh and blood opponent is for some the most critical part of the experience.

I am one of those people who wish to do hunting but I do not have enough knowledge about it. But, somebody has told me that coming online for hunting game review can be a great help for me to become an effective hunter.
big game hunting demos
So, I did a research yesterday. I use search engines for my research since I am new in the Internet technology. Using google I inputted key phrases like”medieval hunting history“. Luckily, I was able to find relevant information about hunting.
Doing research for gps-related topics– the problem with gps
During my research also, I have found that a little knowledge about gadgets that use global positioning system is also important especially when you are the jungle. So I searched further about it by typing keywords like “california traffic gps” and I was really amazed on the concept of this technology fir tracking and navigational activities. Using gps tracking software can be a great help when hunters get lost in the middle of the jungle.
Indeed, my research was a lot of fun and learning. It made me to look forward to hunting with excitement.

You’ve planned a backpacking hiking trip or maybe just a day hike. But before you depart, be sure you get good quality backpacking gear. Bringing your trip plans to the store with you can help any customer service rep show you the right stuff for your trip. It’s important to buy good quality gear to ensure you won’t be completely stuck between a rock and a hard place, all by yourself, with no hope of help. This could mean spending more money than you planned, but it will be worth it in the end.
For short hikes you don’t need as much equipment as you would for a longer hiking trip, such as backpacking your way across Europe. The chance of getting lost during any hike anywhere does exist though, so you should go out prepared no matter what. Of course, you will want a sturdy backpack to carry all the other backpacking equipment in. backpacking gear that is a must includes A flashlight and a knife, sunscreen, first-aid supplies, a compass, extra clothing and food, matches, a water bottle. These are the essentials for any trip into the great outdoors.
For longer trips, such as backpacking through Europe and even weekend travel to a campsite, the list gets a little longer. All the items for a short hike are needed, but add to that sleeping supplies and eating supplies and your backpacking gear list gets longer. A map, or some sort of GPS (Global Positioning System) device, is essential to help you keep your bearings. You need to get a tent and sleeping bag that can be used in the kind of climate you’ll be hiking in, along with fire starter material and pots and/or pans to help cook any food you find on the trail or bring along.
When shopping for backpacking gear, make sure it is of good quality and you have included a survival guide before you hit the open trail. If you have a cell phone, then you should include that in your list of supplies, as many lost people have been rescued solely because of the signal put out by their cellular phone. So, hit the outdoors supply store in your neighborhood and get all the quality backpacking equipment you’ll need for that trip of yours, and remember to have fun!

If you’re planning a float fishing trip, Alaska is likely the best place on earth. You can relax and enjoy the views alongside some of the best fishing of your life.
You’ll find rivers full of fish, beautiful landscapes, great people and an incredible experience. However, before you start booking, read on for a few tips that will ensure your Alaskan fishing adventure is one to remember.
Book With a Trip Planning Service
Instead of depending on one specific lodge, charter company or your own self-guided tour, try booking a trip using a planning service. These companies will lock in and plan your fishing trip based on when you’ll be there, what fish you want to catch, your style of fishing and, of course, your budget. They can also be an invaluable resource for finding the best guides and fishing spots.
One company, recommended and listed by Fodor’s Alaska are Sport Fishing Alaska (Phone: 907-344-8674), who can plan everything from self-guided adventure expeditions to upscale and luxury lodges.
Do Your Research
Because most of the fish in Alaska are migratory, it’s so important to know when they’re in season, as well as where they’ll be at a specific time. Otherwise, you could find yourself staying at an empty lodge next to a river with no fish.
Your primary source of facts should either be your local guide or the state’s Department of Fish and Game Sport Fish Division. The division is online at sf.adfg.state.ak.us and has one of the most comprehensive websites in the country. Check it weekly for updates on great fishing spots, run data, tips and educational articles.
For region-specific information, you can click on particular areas of the state and obtain publications or guides for fishing in that locale. You can also contact the local offices by phone (numbers listed on the website) for guide or charter service recommendations.
Book in Advance
If you’re planning a float fishing trip, Alaska veterans recommend booking well in advance to secure the best lodges at the optimal times. Locals and seasoned visitors know when and where to book, so plan ahead. You’ll also find that during the peak summer season, hotels in major cities and rental cars can become sparse quickly.
Packing List for Alaska Fishing
The basic rule of thumb for any Alaska adventure is to prepare to dress in layers. Daytime temperatures can reach the high 70s while cool nights or pouring rain can instantly drop the temperature to a chilly 40 degrees.
Remember to pack a wind and waterproof outer layer designed for fishing. For successful float fishing vacations, Alaska veterans know to pack smart and be prepared.
